Environmental committee director Emily Hom-
Nici says, “H.E.A.T.stock is an Earth Day concert which will be held on campus.
A lot of our members are artistically and musically inclined so we wanted to
merge all that together.”The members of the H.E.A.T. have been collecting plastic water bottle trash throughout the month of April, which they will turn into an art display for H.E.A.T.stock.
Courtney Eberhard, a second semester member of H.E.A.T., says that the idea was inspired by Earth Day Houston. There will be vendors, bands, and food at H.E.A.T.stock.
Rachel Wilson, co- director of Environmental committee, says, “We’ll have about 13 vendors. There will be people selling eco- friendly products, cool trinkets and vegan food… a lot of the same people you would see at the farmers market. And we’ll have a face painter.”
Between the three committees, about 70 H.E.A.T. members are expected to work at H.E.A.T.stock.
Helping out with projects from other committees is encouraged in H.E.A.T. Eberhard says, “I try to do as much as I can to help with the big projects like Hit the Floor Running (the recent H.E.A.T. benefit run) and working at events in the quad.”
H.E.A.T.stock will be held in George’s Amphitheater at LBJ from 11a.m. until 11p.m. on April 22.
